My goal coming into 2026 was to create a painting every month. That lasted until February. Any creative knows that creativity/inspiration is not like a faucet. You can’t always sit down with the intention to create and make something beautiful. Sometimes that damn faucet is locked.

There are definitly a lot of reoccuring elements that can be seen in my 2026 pieces. The first would be the use of the Apple Tart green color. It’s poked its little green head into each painting i’ve made this year. Another element has been flowers. Your girl loves a bouquet, just go to the All Paintings page and tell if you don’t see a flower painting in the 1st minute of scrolling. At the time of writing this, I’m working on a piece (Sonder) that has a apple tart background and bouquet of flowers. Sue me! Very excited to complete that one. The outlined piece is my newest work. Watch out for that one.

As of 9/22, I’m up to 7 paintings, with 1 of them still in process and 1 idea being sketched. My goal is to at least hit 10 paintings for the year, knowing 12 might stay out of reach. But hey, ya never know.

I just completed Sonder this morning. I think Sonder might be my number 1! (see below) It’s so freakin pretty. The gradients in this piece just sing with the simple black tulip looking flowers. I want to thank the FrogTape painters tape for holding these color lines in their place. I kind of hate the name soooooo that might change.lol

For the WIP (work in progress) “Was” this will be a fun piece to work on. We’ll see if I regret taping out the lines instead of just painting the whole background and then carving the lines. I hope this way will be better with the lines already established.
